Life Changers Award - 2nd year running! PDF Print E-mail
Written by Kate Edwards

Following from Hazel Cox's award last year, this year Kerith Harris was presented with a Life Changers award for her work as a Student Advisor at Sussex.

The Life Changers awards are national recognition for those whose work in higher education makes a huge difference to their colleagues, students, and the insititution as a whole.

Kerith was nominated for this award by her peers for her frontline work in helping students through the many challenging experiences they face.  Colleagues talk of students that went to Kerith on the verge of quitting their course, and just months later graduated from the university with top degrees. The government is currently trying to solve the problem of high drop-out rates in universities and staff here believe that if every institution had someone like Kerith to guide the students through their difficulties, whether academic, emotional, or health-related, the problem would be mush less serious.

The winners were presented with their awards at an event on Tuesday 14th May.  To read more about Kerith and the other Life Changers, click here .
